Opening AV performance
Jim Zweerts is a composer, sound designer and video artist based in The Hague.
His music is an intense mix of intricately layered soundscapes and raw, morphing beats. In his live sets, fast-moving visuals accompany the music, generated through algorithms that move through a range of aesthetics: microscopic textures, raw shapes, rhythmical patterns and the suggestion of space.
This sea of complex, abstract images operates on the borders between noise and structure, 2D and 3D, and the abstract and the associative — an A/V set that opens up multiple potential narratives and experiences.
