In our opening block we celebrate films that are created by young and upcoming filmmakers from the region of Twente. By young people who proudly present their first short film to more experienced filmmakers who present a preview of their latest work.

Young filmmakers created their own mockumentary together with De Theatermakerij.
Welcome to the library. From hungry interns and silent students to ‘sigma male’ businessmen and loud influencers — our camera crew spent an afternoon following the action and shows that even in the library, there’s always something going on.
SEVEN ONE MINUTE FILMS
Saxion Students
No dialogue, 7’00 minutes
As a kickoff and getting-to-know-each-other exercise, students from the Saxion Minor Audio Visual Storytelling created seven one-minute movies. These films feature no dialogue, are set in a single location, and are, of course, weird, wicked, and wonderful.
A NOTHING OBJECT
Sijia Yu
No dialogue, 10’23 minutes
Sijia Yu recently graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy. Together with Twente-based crew members, she directed A Nothing Object, in which a mime actor who believes himself has an invisible gun, walks around inside the train carriages. A woman notices the gun and tries to dismantle his power.
